Yesterday, The Quest of the Warrior Sheep won the award for 'Southampton's Favourite Book - 2011.' We're thrilled. Totally fleeced up.
The ceremony took place at Down To Earth Community Farm in Southampton. How cool was that!  Even if we did have to compete with a noisy goat when we gave our thank-you speech. Many thanks to all the teachers and librarians in Southampton who organized the award and to all the super students who voted for us.  High Hooves.

 Pictures to follow shortly.

More excellent news from Egmont UK. The Warrior Sheep books are to be translated into Spanish and Catalan and sold in mainland Spain. Bravo!

Oxo's wondering if he can go on a book tour. He's heard of tapas and fancies trying some. Yum yum.

Super news from our publishers Egmont. They have sold all three books in the Warrior Sheep series to Indonesia!   They won't be published there until next year but we can't wait to see them!

We're delighted with this wonderful comment from Grace Burrowes who is a best selling author from U.S.A.

"In the midst of thousands of books (including my own), I had to stop what I was doing and read more 'Warrior Sheep.'  I haven't seen a more captivating children's book in years, and I cannot wait to read my next installment of the Russell's charming and hilarious sheep."

There's even more from Grace on the contact page !

  LEEDS BOOK AWARDS

We had a  brilliant time at the Leeds Book Awards Ceremony. The children from Hawksworth Wood Primary School who reviewed The Quest Of The Warrior Sheep did us proud. Librarian, Karen, wrote 'Poem of the Warrior Sheep' and the pupils performed it with great panache. Here's how they began:

  "Let us introduce ourselves:

the Warrior Sheep we is -

Links, Oxo, Jaycey, Wills and Sal,

We're here to do"the biz!"

Great stuff !

 Island Games

We failed.  We just couldn't pick only 6 from the 365 entries for the Island Games Story Writing Competition. So, as well as the six winners, we asked if we might award 2 special prizes. And then we pushed our luck and asked if we could give a special mention to another 30. And, er, have a little ceremony too.

The ceremony was held at the Quay Arts Centre in Newport I.O.W. and was a super evening. Thanks to all the parents and teachers and, of course, the children who came along.

We're sorry we didn't win at Solihull but being on a short list of three was an honour and we

had a great day. So thanks to everyone in Solihull who voted for us and talked to us after the ceremony.
