For readers who like car cashes, unlikely heroes, and plenty of wildly amusing action, this book is a must. The characters are deliciously funny, and readers will find themselves rooting for the five sheep, who truly are heroes.

We opened the garden for the National Gardens Scheme last Sunday,14th August.
The sun came out and so did the people. 300 of them!

We raised £888 for the NGS.
And we served tea and cakes all day
and made £400 for the Ventnor Boxing Club.
It does a great job for the kids - adults too - in Ventnor.

Plant of the week. Or more precisely, last week. It's pretty much over now. Dierma. (Angel's fishing rods). Just love the way they sway about in the breeze. Ok. the wind. Plenty of that again today.

The Island Games 2011. Ventnor as velodrome ! The ladies cycle race. Such speed. (Nothing to do with sheep or gardens but I enjoyed the day).

July 20: The yellow dahlia in the white border. Does it stay or does it go?
I tried to pretend it wasn't sooo yellow. But it is. It had to go. To a new home in the mixed border, replaced by Zantadeschia and Lychins Alba.
